Rainy Season Readiness from South Fl. Water Mgmt. District
We are now officially in the wet season in South Florida when 70 percent of the year’s rain falls. In our region, flooding can happen when heavy rainfall occurs over short period of time from a single, heavy storm, tropical system or hurricane.
The South Florida Water Management District has created a website on the Rainy Season Readiness; the site includes timely information about how the SFWMD operates during the rainy season and the preparation now in place for seasonal readiness. The website also contains information about what residents can do to prepare for upcoming storms and what to anticipate in the aftermath of heavy rains. more
